We have a lovely women’s fancy dress shop on Bowen Island – Wren. I longed for this sweater-dress, and it finally went on sale.
But after wearing it once, it languished. It was beautiful with the merino wool knit, mother-of-pearl buttons, and silk back … but it felt boring when I wore it.
So, I picked up a lime-green vintage sweater from Sally Ann, unraveled it, and applied the twisted yarn to the sweater back and sides.
Now it feels unique and a little subversive.
