I liked the texture of the chintz on this $2 jacket at the Bowen clothing sale. Although the style wasn’t me, I saw potential.
With a scrap of velour from a nightgown I had made a decade ago, I created a ruffle along the collar, down the front, and on the sleeve edges.
In the back I used an insert technique I learned from Threads magazine.
It is now a favourite, and was one of the two items I took to wear to New York Fashion Week 2015.
