My friends Jeannie and Janet gave me their cast-off cashmere sweaters which were similar in colour. The feel was fab, but the look was drab.
In my closet was a pretty purple lace bolero that didn’t suit my style. So, I put all three together. With Jeannie’s v-neck as the base, I made a ruffle from Janet’s sweater. I then sewed the bolero, cutting pieces of the lace for an applique finish. 
With the rest of Janet’s sweater I madea little jacket for Stephanie, finishing the hem with grey striped satin I’ve had yards of for decades.
